Fresh water is a very valuable item on Maratua Island. The fresh water supply on Maratua Island is heavily dependent on rainwater and wells in the village. In the dry season, the water in the well will decrease its quality to become like brackish water and the amount is very limited.
At Maratuacamp, we provide highly qualified water coming from the spring on Mount Padai, which we carry on special vessels.
Therefore for fresh water we do not provide it for free, you must pay according to the amount of use. You have to use the water wisely and always save money. For the needs of rinsing the toilet or others, we provide filtered sea water and available in the bathroom through water pipes, sea water you can use for free.
The price of fresh water is IDR 1,000 per liter and packed in 20 liters of jerry can. Please contact the staff for fresh water needs.
